Fletcher Beats Par For Second Time; Libby, Felty, Lancaster Win


            Ocala, FL A brief rain shower cooled the temperature but it didn’t cool Ed Fletcher’s hot play as he shot his second sub-par round and won the “Championship Flight” with a one under par 71 at the Country Club of Ocala Wednesday, May 4, in Senior Amateur Golf Tour of North Central Florida play.  He shot a 2-under 70 at Red Tail Golf Club earlier this year.
            And when the clouds cleared out and the sun shined brightly in beautiful blue skies, Truman Libby won the “A Flight” with an 81, followed by Jerry Felty’s 87 to win the “B Flight” and Mark Lancaster”s  85 to win the “C Flight.”
            Both Fletcher and Felty live in The Villages, FL, while Libby lives in Homosassa, FL, and Lancaster travels from
Glen St. Mary, FL.
            Dave Cox placed second in the “Championship Flight” with a 76 and also won the Closest-to-the-Pin on one of the par 3’s.  In the “A Flight”, Tom Grant placed second by shooting an 82,  and  Don  Ahlstrand came in third with an 83. 
            Placing second in the “C Flight” was Terry Campbell with a 91.  Additional Closest-to-the-Pin winners were Frank Olive and Dave Raybin.
